Brake & Shear press operator

We are looking for an individual with 2 or 3 years of Brake & shear Press Operator experience for our client in Brampton.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Operate sheet metal forming equipment, such as brake press, shear, punch press, etc.
• Loading, forming, unloading product ranging from small pieces to larger sheet steel
• Ensure the accurate measurement of parts using measuring tape, square
• Perform periodic checks on output
• Responsible for quality checking the finished product to ensure it is defect-free and ready for the next step in production
• Communicate issues to Supervisor

Qualification and Requirements:

• 2 or 3 years of experience in Brake & shear machines.
• Determine cut sizes on parts using correct Bend Allowance calculations
• Check products for correct shapes, dimensions, and other specifications.
• Lay out, set up and operate brake press machines and back stops
• Read and interpret drawings or follow verbal instructions to bump, bend, roll, or otherwise shape and form metal stock into parts or products
• Operate metalworking machines to cut, punch, drill, shape or straighten sheet metal.
• Measure and mark sheet metal according to templates and layouts.
