Maintenance Planner

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the continued development and administration of the maintenance program
  • Provide support in the daily operations/maintenance of 3 buildings
  • Manage and submit work orders
  • Coordinates regular scheduled maintenance
  • Maintains PM (Preventative Maintenance program)
  • Participate in and schedule industry audits, as required
  • Maintains accurate supply inventory
  • Assists with purchasing of equipment, parts, and other maintenance items
  • Ensures supplies are received, stored, and redistributed to the appropriate locations
  • Coordinate outside contract maintenance staff
  • Ability to effectively communicate and develop relationships with outside suppliers and contractors
  • Develops and maintains checklists for all support staff
  • Supervises and oversees schedule of maintenance staff
  • Ensures all maintenance records are logged
  • Ensures staff compliance with current policies and procedures
  • Ensures that the upkeep and maintenance of Security and Fire Systems are maintained as necessary.
  • Assist with writing SOP’s and LOTO procedures for new equipment
  • Works with Management to find cost saving initiatives
  • Must be willing to work off hours/weekends (if required)
  • Direct the workforce in the absence of the Maintenance Manager
  • Other duties and special projects, as assigned

Qualifications:

  • A minimum of 3 years experience in a relevant role
  • A minimum of 3 years experience working in a manufacturing environment (food manufacturing experience considered a strong asset)
  • Post-secondary education in a related field or trade is an asset
  • Excellent skills in MS office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and third-party software)
  • Ability to lift to 50 pounds
  • Ability to travel between various supplier locations (paid travel)
  • Ability to work independently and with maintenance technicians
  • Ability to interact with others in a positive and professional manner
  • Strong work ethic and attention to detail
  • Commitment to quality and safety
  • Effective time management skill
  • Excellent problem-solving skills (with minimal supervision)
  • Forklift Certification & Working at Heights Certification, considered an asset
